Janet Hardy, Advanced Myofascial Release Therapist

Janet brings the specialty of Myofascial Release (MFR) to the Florida panhandle.  This is an effective treatment to help relieve pain & stress whether from a recent injury, surgery, a long time chronic condition or just daily challenges.  Fascia is the body’s connective tissue which wraps every cell.  MFR unleashes restrictions in the myofascia (muscle fascia) taking pressure off pain sensitive areas and can also be an overall health enhancement in terms of allowing the possibility of freer blood and lymph circulation, and optimal function of organs and digestion. Each session includes a postural analysis and is individualized using various myofascial release techniques.  Sometimes Reiki is incorporated into the treatment.

An interest in health and freedom of movement is what started Janet on her journey as a dance major in college.  After teaching ballet, she was drawn to the field of massage therapy.

Janet graduated from the Core Institute in Tallahassee and has been a FL Licensed Massage Therapist and owner of Caring Touch in Santa Rosa Beach, FL since 1994.

In 1996 she became Certified in NeuroMuscular Therapy from the Academy of NeuroMuscular Therapies in St. Petersburg, FL.  

To be able to offer another dimension to her work, she added the Usui system of Reiki  in 1996.  In 2005 she became a Reiki Master-Teacher of this energy therapy.

In 2000, Janet discovered Myofascial Release at a seminar given by John F. Barnes, P.T.  She has since completed 11 of his seminars, including a Skill Enhancement Seminar where she spent one week training along side of him at his Treatment Center in Philadelphia, PA. In August 2012, Janet was invited to be an official member of the John F. Barnes team of instructors.


Janet is dedicated to sharing what she knows about the body’s fascia and how it affects our overall body/mind’s health.  Free telephone or in person consultations are available.
